As I suggest with any item of clothing, don't wash it unless it needs it. Of course we need clean clothes, but over washing can dramatically shorten a garments life span; especially if using harsh soaps and cycles.

Most of my pieces feature hand stitched appliqué designs that might be a little more delicate compared to some other clothing items. I use an adhesive interfacing to ensure longevity, but for extra precaution here are my top tips:

Wash inside out when possible or inside a pillow case to avoid unnecessary friction.

Use short cycles like a half hour 'daily wash' cycle at 30 degrees.

If washed by hand don't scrub or wring out the fabric.

Let air dry and give it a good iron afterwards to reinforce that interfacing.

I design all the appliqué patterns featured on the garments myself and although I love to hear peoples interest, I am not currently supplying any kind of PDFs, tutorials or workshops.

Almost all of the materials I use are secondhand, coming predominantly from local charity shops and online platforms.

I also tend to seek out things that are at the end of their first life, like stained table linens and shirts with missing buttons. Which I can then revitalize, not only with decorative designs, but with the basics like dying and re-hemming.

Anything I can't source second hand (interfacing, office supplies, thread) I shop responsibly from local, independent shops and haberdasheries. Keeping those pennies in the local communities where it really matters.

I'm always open to donations of second hand natural fibers with the prospect of a custom work trade.
